A work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. A learning plan is developed by the college and the employer. Each student will be placed in the horse industry under the supervision of a prominent person who specializes in the student's main areas of interest. The student's industry training will be supervised by the instructor as well as their immediate supervisor on the job.
Upon completion of the course each student shall be given the opportunity to: apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the occupation and the business/industry; demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation and the business/industry.

Based upon achievement of goals established by student, intern site supervisor and the instructor. Grades will be based on the percentages made from each of the areas listed above along with attitude, attendance, and participation.
