To represent a variation of value from darkest dark to lightest light, to adequately draw a likeness, i.e., relating eye to hand coordination; and to use the media of ebony, charcoal, ink and scratchboard.
Course Competencies:
Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to demonstrate ability to:
- Use perspective in drawing.
- Replicate proportion and balance in a drawing.
- Produce a variety of techniques through the use of ebony, charcoal, and ink.
- Communicate visually through drawing.
- Properly present and exhibit finished work.
- Present a variation of value from darkest dark to lightest light.
- Adequately draw a likeness, i.e., relating eye to hand coordination.
- Use the media of ebony, charcoal, ink, and scratchboard.
The final grade will be calculated on a minimum of seven drawings, a mid-semester project and a final project, attendance, and exhibition participation.
