Student Conduct

Weatherford College has the responsibility and authority to formulate and enforce rules of student conduct that are appropriate and necessary to further the educational goals of the College and its students. Students who enroll must accept responsibility for their behavior and for their ultimate success in higher education. To create a positive climate for learning, Weatherford College expects all students to abide by a Code of Student Behavior. To summarize:

Students must maintain high standards of scholastic honesty. Violations of the Code of Student Behavior include but are not limited to cheating on tests or assignments, plagiarism, and collusion; violence or threats of violence; loud or abusive language; and failure to comply with the direction of College officials and instructors.

Attendance

Attendance for the practicum student is an absolute must. The student in DAAC 1166 needs to average seven hours per week for a sixteen week period. If for any reason the student is unable to attend their practicum site they are required to call their college supervisor and their agency to let them know.

Grade Information

This class will be graded on a letter grade basis. To receive a passing grade the student must complete all hours required (112 hours), provide documentation from the Qualified Credentialed Counselor stating that all hours were completed with competency in all areas required. These areas are screening, assessing, counseling individuals and groups, treatment planning, case management, crisis management, education, referral, and reports and recordkeeping. The student also is required to complete assignments posted in a MOODLE classroom, mainly forum discussion between students, and weekly communication with the class instructor through emails. Forum discussions will count for 10% of the final grade, and weekly emails to instructor will count for another 10% of the final grade. Reflection paper(s) through the semester may be required, determined by the instructor.
