Course Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Develop techniques mastered in Fire and Arson Investigation I.
  • Explain the rule of law as it pertains to arrest, search and seizure procedures and their application to fire investigations.
  • Describe the chemistry of combustion and the relationship of atoms, elements, compounds, and organic compounds on fire.
  • Prepare an investigation from the fireground to the court room.
  • Demonstrate individual skills such as sketching, photographing, interviewing, etc.

Students will be evaluated based on their overall averages from the assignments, quizzes, class participation, semester long project, research papers, examinations and participations in discussion forums. The student’s grade will be calculated from the above actions by utilization of the below model
