Introduction to Welding Using Multiple Processes - Cloned

Basic welding processes. Includes oxy-fuel welding (OFW) and cutting, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).

Course Learning Objectives

Demonstrate machine set-up and complete welds and cutting operations involving SMAW, OFW, GMAW, and GTAW; Demonstrate basic shop safety; identify types of electrodes used in welding processes; Identify various welding and cutting standards; and demonstrate proper joint preparation techniques
Objectives discussed/demonstrated in designated time segments, as established in the current semester quarter of WF/CE course master listings or specialized WF/CE business/industry generated contract.

Evaluation Standards

Methods of evaluation for awarding of successful or unsatisfactory course completion:  Class attendance (80%), completion of class assignments, class participation, student demonstration of course learning outcomes/skills with instructor feedback, and periodic performance reviews and assessments.
