Academic Dishonesty Policy
Students may be subject to disciplinary proceedings resulting in an academic penalty or disciplinary penalty for academic dishonesty. Academic Dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, cheating on a test, plagiarism, and collusion. For additional information refer to the "Student Code of Conduct" in the Weatherford College student handbook.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Discuss chemical nature and properties of inorganic compounds as related to the fire service.
- Explain theoretical principles and fundamental laws of chemistry, states of matter, gas laws, chemical bonding, and thermodynamics with applications to various industrial processes.
- Identify properties of gases and solutions.
- Discuss principles of chemical reactions.
- Identify the common elements by their atomic symbols on the Periodic Table and demonstrate an understanding of why the table is organized into columns and groups.

Students will be evaluated based on their overall averages from the assignments, quizzes, class participation, semester long project, research papers, examinations and participations in discussion forums. The student’s grade will be calculated from the above actions by utilization of the below model

90% to 100% = A
80% to 89% = B
70% to 79% = C
60% to 69% = D
