DEVR0301 is designed for students whose scores on assessment tests indicate a need for improvement in reading comprehension and vocabulary. This course will not transfer but will count for non-degree credit from Weatherford College. Three hours lecture and twelve hours of tutorials required.
Upon successful completion of DEVR0301, students will be able to demonstrate the following critical reading and thinking skills on assignments and tests specific to each area:
- Locate explicit textual information, draw complex inferences, and describe analyze, and evaluate the information within and across multiple texts of varying lengths.
- Comprehend and use vocabulary effectively in oral communication, reading, and writing.
- Describe, analyze, and evaluate information within and across a range of texts.
- Identify and analyze the audience, purpose, and message across a variety of texts.
- Describe and apply insights gained from reading a variety of texts.

Grades will be taken at the discretion of the instructor. A breakdown of evaluation will be provided in the course outline.
At the end of the semester, you will receive a letter grade based on the following averages:
A = 90 – 100%
B = 80 – 89%
C = 70 – 79%
D = 60 – 69%
F = 0 – 59%
