Data-Driven Decision Making I

Class

This course will examine the roles of data in managerial and entrepreneurial decision making. This course will review basic concepts and methodologies in statistics, economics, accounting and finance. The course demonstrates the usefulness of these tools and analyses in providing optimal options in decision-making situations.

  1. Explain what it means to be ‘data driven’ and the role of data in decision making.
  2. Identify types of data and characteristics of data quality.
  3. Describe techniques for collecting, analyzing, and translating data.
  4. Create a data-driven decision making plan for your organization

Evaluation Standards

The final course grade will be calculated based upon exams, class discussion, case studies, and other assignments the instructor may choose to include. Instructors may include participation grades and attendance as factors in determining course grades.

Weatherford College also provides the Coyote Pantry. The Pantry maintains boxed and canned foods for students in need. The location of the Coyote Pantry is two blocks west of the Weatherford campus at the Baptist Student Ministry (118 E. Park Ave., Weatherford). Pantry hours are Mon-Thurs. 8:30 am-4:30 pm and Fri. 8.30 am-12:00 pm (817-599-6586).
