Program Description
The Cosmetology Instructor Certification program at Weatherford College is designed for licensed cosmetologists who wish to transition into teaching and mentoring roles within the beauty industry. This program equips students with the pedagogical skills, instructional techniques, and classroom management strategies necessary to become effective educators in cosmetology schools or training environments.
Through a combination of classroom instruction and supervised teaching practice, students learn how to develop lesson plans, assess student performance, and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in both theory and practical settings.
Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to apply for licensure as a Cosmetology Instructor through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

Program Requirements
Description: Per TDLR License Requirements 1602.255 - To be eligible for an instructor license an applicant must meet specific requirements including holding an active operator license and having completed 500 hours of instruction in cosmetology in a commission-approved training program.
