ARTC 1313 : Digital Publishing I

The fundamentals of using digital layout as a primary publishing tool and the basic concepts and terminology associated with typography and page layout. The focus of this course is to create a complete business set of publications including newsletters, brochures, flyers, advertisements and data merged documents using Microsoft Publisher. Microsoft Publisher is required to complete coursework and is not available on a Mac IOS. Two hours lecture and four hours lab per week.

ARTC 2313 : Digital Publishing II

Includes layout procedures from thumbnails and roughs to final comprehensive and print output. Emphasis on design principles for the creation of advertising and publishing materials, and techniques for efficient planning and documenting projects. Coursework focuses on preparing students to take the Adobe Certified Associate exams in InDesign and Photoshop for Print and Digital Media Publication and Visual Design. Two hours lecture and four hours lab per week.
