The fundamentals of using digital layout as a primary publishing tool and the basic concepts and terminology associated with typography and page layout. Coursework focuses on preparing students to take the Adobe Certified Associate exam in InDesign for Print and Digital Media Publication and Visual Design. Two hours lecture and four hours lab per week.

Emphasis on design principles for the creation of advertising and publishing materials, and techniques for efficient planning and documenting projects. Two hours lecture and four hours lab per week.
